MY WORK EXPERIENCE:
POLYNESIAN CULTURAL CENTER /PCC/
Department: HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT
Tasks: My daily tasks are to screen all the job applications and contact both the hiring managers and applicants to set up a job interview for them. I communicate with supervisors and managers of different levels daily in-person, through phone calls and emails. On top of that, I cover the customer service desk receiving about 20-30 calls every day, providing information about PCC, and handling all the questions regarding job vacancies and job applications.
Essential skills acquired: High productivity in a short amount of time, professional verbal and written communication skills, customer service skills, and creative thinking skills to come up with new solutions to existing work-related problems.
Department: CREDIT RISK DEPARTMENT
Tasks: KhanBank’s Board of Directors consisted of leaders from all over the world, including CEO John Bell, CFO Csaba Csikos, and CIO Sudarsana Narasimhan. The Board approved all major credit applications of Directors due to their significant amounts. With that, all major credit applications were translated into English, and meetings were conducted in English for the non-native Directors. Verbal and written translation workload was loaded, and work pressure was intense because you can be called for translation at any time in any meeting. A wide range of financial knowledge, knowledge of frequently used finance and economics jargon, and the knowledge of KHAN BANK’s inner structure were highly required from the translators.
Essential skills acquired: Punctuality, knowledge of finance and economics, understanding of how the whole economy and commercial banks work, knowledge of banking products, knowledge of different types of credits and bad debts, verbal and written translation skills from to English & Mongolian, professional writing skill, communication skill, and work ethic.
New MileStone Tour
Department: TOUR GUIDES
Position: TOUR GUIDE
Year: 2014 – 2015
Tasks: “New Milestone” company received tourists from around 40 different countries in the world. The majority of the tours are given in English; tour days vary from 1 day to 14 days tour. A wide range of natural and cultural knowledge about the beautiful country of Mongolia was required from all tour guides. Tour guides have to be certified to give tours. Cooking skills and customer service skills were highly needed. Since it was my first working experience, I learned the basics of hard work and organization culture. I enjoyed my work so much and did much great networking with guests from all over the world.
Essential skills acquired: Ability to make safe decisions for my guests in any given situation, customer-driven service skill, problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, excellent planning skills, responsible and positive attitude towards pretty much everything.
